FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Arkansas women's tennis team wrapped up the final day of its own Razorback Classic at the George M. Billingsley Tennis Center, as the Razorbacks earned a pair of doubles wins and Flavia Araujo scored victories in both doubles and singles play on Sunday.

Araujo teamed up with Carol Benito of Tulsa and began the day with consolation doubles play, as the pair worked together and defeated Nataly Krutova and Daniela Simonova of Northwestern State, 8-7 (5).

Shannon Hudson and Brittany Huxley also teamed up in consolation doubles play and defeated Auburn's Ashley Kitchen and Lindsey Whitehead, 8-2.

"We definitely finished strong in doubles today," head coach Michael Hegarty said. "It was an excellent tournament overall and we continue to develop good habits during these critical fall events."

Araujo also earned herself a singles victory later in the day during consolation play, as the Sao Paulo, Brazil, native defeated Auburn's Ashley Kitchen, 6-2, 6-2.

Hudson also competed in the final of the U.S. Open Flight, as the freshman hung tough with Reka Muller of Auburn in a tight and competitive first set, but was bested in a tiebreaker and ultimately fell, 7-6 (5), 6-2. It marked just the first loss of the fall season for Hudson, who had won five straight singles matches entering the day.

The Razorbacks enjoy a break in scheduling with the next event being the ITA Central Regional championships in Norman, Okla., Oct. 18-21.
