FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas football team's assistant coaches met with the media Sunday to discuss the game week in preparation for South Carolina. Assistant head coach and defensive line coach Charlie Partridge opened about improvements to the defense.

“That’s certainly what Coach Ash hit on with the full defense when we met this afternoon was that our open field tackling needs to be better," Coach Partridge said. "We take away some of those routes that they catch for 10 yards if we tackle them for 10, then it’s a completely different game.”

Coach Partridge also spoke about Trey Flowers, who tied a single-game career high with 3.5 tackles for loss last night. Flowers’ output is tied for the highest single-game total by an SEC player and for 13th among all players in the NCAA this season.

"I think Trey Flowers had a heck of a football game," Coach Partridge said. "He made a lot of plays in the backfield. He did a good job of working through his gap and shedding blocks. He was an impact type of guy last night."

Associate head coach and offensive line coach Sam Pittman addressed Dan Skipper's field goal block against Florida.

“If he doesn’t get knocked back, he’s 6’10” and he's got a chance to get it," Coach Pittman said. "Those two plays that he and Denver (Kirkland) made on that extra point and field goal block team have been inspirations to the team. We went in and scored both times that happened this year. Hopefully he’ll do it again."

Kickoff for Saturday's game against South Carolina inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville is scheduled for 11:21 a.m., and the game will be televised on SEC TV.

Single-game tickets for the South Carolina and Auburn games in Fayetteville and the Mississippi State game in Little Rock on Nov. 23 are on sale. Single-game tickets can be purchased at ArkansasRazorbacks.com, at the Razorback Ticket Center or by calling 800-982-HOGS (4647). Additionally, tickets for the Little Rock game can be purchased at the War Memorial Stadium Ticket Office, which is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
