FAYETTEVILLE – The seventh-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team tees it up for the final event of the fall at the Alamo Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, Sunday-Tuesday.

Head coach Shauna Estes-Taylor and her team take part in the 15-team event at the Briggs Ranch Golf Club, playing at the course for the first time in program history.

Estes-Taylor has been pretty set in her traveling five and doesn’t make any adjustments to the lineup this week taking seniors Emma Lavy and Emily Tubert, sophomores Gabriela Lopez and Regina Plasencia and freshman Summar Roachell on the road.

“We are really excited about this event,” Estes-Taylor said.  “It gives us one last look in a competition setting before we have a long break to work on things.  We also have a chance to play a new golf course, one that will be a regional host next year and we are excited to wrap up the fall competition schedule on a high note.”

Plasencia has emerged as an early season team leader for Arkansas in the first three events of the fall.  The Guadalajara, Mexico, native is averaging 70.63 this fall with two top five finishes.

Mexico City, Mexico, native Lopez is not far behind with a 71.25 stroke average.  The duo tied for second place earlier this fall.

Tubert checks in with a 72.38 stroke average and won the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Classic.  Her medalist honor along with the runner-up finishes by Plasencia and Lopez, helped the Razorbacks to the team title at the event.

The rest of the field at the Alamo Invitational includes host No. 71 UTSA, No. 54 Baylor, No. 19 Florida, No. 48 Florida State, No. 38 Louisville, No. 29 LSU, No. 11 Oklahoma, No. 41 SMU, No. 47 TCU, No. 53 Tennessee, No. 55 Texas, No. 46 Texas A&M, No. 64 Texas State and No. 20 Tulane.
