FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas women's tennis team prepares to compete in its final event of the fall season schedule, as the Razorbacks travel to Houston for the Houston Cougar Invitational, Nov. 1-3.
"As we wrap up the fall season we are looking for a strong finish for these three players," head coach Michael Hegarty said. "We have had an excellent fall season so far, with standout performances individually at each event. We look for that to continue in Houston."
Pang recently finished runner-up in doubles at the 2013 USTA/ITA Central Regional Championship alongside teammate Kimberley - Ann Surin. The two won five straight matches in one day to reach the championship, but were defeated by Whitney Ritchie and Mia Lancaster of Oklahoma in an 8-4 final score.
The sophomore from Nanjing, China, has held her own in singles play as well this fall, recording a 6-3 record. Pang has earned wins over three ITA preseason ranked opponents in Daneika Borthwick of Florida State (46), Hermon Brhane of Oklahoma (47) and Augustina Eskenazi of Penn (116).
Hudson looks to close out her breakout fall season in impressive fashion, after the freshman began her collegiate career winning five straight singles matches. The Virginia Beach, Va., native holds a 5-1 record this season after taking her first loss of the season against Auburn's Reka Muller during the Razorback Classic, Oct. 4-6.
With a 2-6 record this fall season, Brittany Huxley looks for a positive finish to her fall season and momentum to carry over into the spring. The sophomore from Grafton, Australia, has also gone 3-3 in doubles play this fall.
