"Calling" the Hogs with Alex Perlman

There are milestones in a season that come at all different points and mean completely different things. @RazorbackWBB reached one of those on Saturday night: double-digit wins.

If your 10th victory comes in game 29, you're not exactly thrilled. However, when it comes after game 10, there's reason to be excited and quite optimistic. That's the case this season for the Hogs. They're sitting at a perfect 10-0 with only three games remaining until the SEC season begins.

Expectations should still be tempered at this point - don't forget this team still has seven freshmen that have never experienced conference play. Yet, it's hard to keep one's mind from wondering what the limit might be this year. Arkansas has already taken care of business in every game and beaten Kansas on the road in hostile environment. The Razorbacks have won against quick and deliberate teams, at Bud Walton Arena and away from it, and teams that play physical basketball and schools that prefer to finesse.

Give head coach Tom Collen and his staff a lot of credit for putting together a testing schedule, but one that allows Arkansas to rack up the wins at the same time. Many coaches have told me building the perfect schedule is an art and, while it may not have been perfect, this season's nonconference slate seems to have prepared the Hogs well for the future.

Those tests continue on Tuesday night when the Razorbacks welcome Tulsa from Conference USA into Bud Walton Arena. The Golden Hurricane brings a 3-2 record into the game with wins over Lamar, Western Michigan, and Oral Roberts. Interestingly enough, the Hogs have faced two of those three teams already.

Our coverage of Arkansas and Tulsa begins at 6:45 PM with the Razorback Courtside Show, tipoff is set for 7 from the Bud. It will be the last time you can catch the Hogs in action for a while. After Tuesday's game, the team will have its finals break and will not play again until December 20. Can't wait to see you out at BWA to support Arkansas.

Go Hogs!
