FAYETTEVILLE -- University of Arkansas women's basketball head coach Tom Collen held his second luncheon of the season on Monday, sharing a meal and conversation with Razorback fans and supporters at the Guest House International.

Opening the season 11-0 and off to their best start since 2010-11, the Razorbacks have already earned notable wins at home over Middle Tennessee State and on the road against Kansas. Collen shared his excitement over the team's performance up to this point in the season.

"I think the one thing that I like about this group is that they're really shooting the ball well and defending the ball well," Collen said. "We're ranked No. 1 in the nation for defense right now. Our numbers are incredible. We're really going to find out when we get into SEC play whether we're as good as our statistics say."

With two home games remaining on its non-conference schedule, Arkansas prepares to welcome Tennessee Tech and Mississippi Valley State to Bud Walton Arena before hosting No. 10 South Carolina to open conference play on Jan. 2.

"We start SEC play right off the bat against South Carolina, who is probably going to be ranked at least tenth in the country," Collen said. "We really need to get a big crowd out for that game. If we could get a good crowd for that it's going to be really important for us."

Also in attendance at the luncheon was Bria Pitts, Ana-Carlota Faussurier and Khadijah West. Although the three freshmen have seen limited playing time right away, Collen shared his excitment for the three.

"This freshman class is really talented," Collen said. "These freshmen, in particular, are just waiting and working their tails off for an opportunity to get out on the floor. I'm confident that at some point in time it's going to happen for them. I love all three of these ladies and I think you're going to see them out on the floor soon."

Currently enjoying a break in scheduling for final exams, the Razorbacks return to the court and welcome Tennessee Tech to Bud Walton Arena on Dec. 20. Opening tip is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Collen and the Razorbacks invite all fans to attend monthly luncheons at Guest House International, formerly Clarion Inn, at 1255 South Shiloh Drive in Fayetteville at 11:30 a.m. The price for this season's luncheon is $12 payable by cash or check at the door. Luncheon dates are November 11, December 16, January 13, February 10, and March 10. Contact the Razorback Marketing Office at 479-575-6055 for more information.

Season tickets are still available for the 2013-14 season. New this year, fans can choose their seat each game when they purchase a General Admission Season Ticket for $45. Reserved Season Tickets are $90 and Family Plans are available for $100. Included in the Family Plan is two adult and two youth general admission season tickets.
