FAYETTEVILLE -- Preparing to return to the court after a 10-day break for final exams, University of Arkansas women's basketball head coach Tom Collen met with members of the media on Wednesday to preview the team's upcoming matchup against Tennessee Tech.

With student-athletes facing the challenge of balancing an exam schedule and game preparation, Collen spoke to what practices have been like over the past few days.

"We did a lot of fundamental work and went back to the video to try and improve on things we weren't doing well," Collen said. "We tried to shorten our practices down a bit and not go too long. We want them to get in there and burn up some of that nervous energy they've got from finals, but we also don't want to wear them down and not give them time to study."

Despite Tennessee Tech's record, Collen said he feels the Razorbacks (11-0) will get a good challenge when they welcome the Golden Eagles to Bud Walton Arena on Friday night.

"Jim Davis is a great coach," Collen said. "They're going to come in here and be well coached. They're pretty talented and real athletic in the post with four kids that are 6-2. They look a little like SEC post kids. They made it to their conference tournament championship and lost by a point, otherwise they would have been in the NCAA Tournament. They're definitely a team we have to take seriously."

With the holiday break awaiting the team on the other side of Friday night's matchup, Collen said the message to his team has been simple.

"If we can just get by this one last game," Collin said, "I told them the best present that they can give themselves right now is going into the holidays 12-0."

Arkansas (11-0) and Tennessee Tech (3-7) are scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. inside Bud Walton Arena.
