Coach @TomCollen Holds @RazorbackWBB Luncheon

FAYETTEVILLE -- University of Arkansas women's basketball head coach Tom Collen held another of his monthly luncheons to talk hoops with fans and supporters at the Guest House International on Monday.

The Razorbacks (14-3, 1-3 SEC) have hit a difficult stretch in their schedule, losing three of their first four SEC contests in close fashion. Collen shared his continued belief in the team.

"I can't sit here and tell you that this team is all of the sudden just going to catch fire, but I think they're capable of it," Collen said. "We got off to a 14-0 start and then we've battled through four SEC games. All of the last four SEC games have come down to a possession with a minute, 30 seconds to go. We've lost three of those four. It's very hard on the players and it's very hard on me."

One of those tough conference losses came at Florida, but even in defeat, Collen said he remains excited and encouraged by what he sees from his young Razorbacks.

"We're down there in a hostile environment without our starting post player and team captain (Jhasmin Bowen) and we had two freshmen step up and score 23 points a piece," Collen said. "They did all they could do. That excites me, knowing how good these girls are already as freshmen."

According to Collen, winning in the SEC this season may arguably be harder than it has ever been.

"This is arguably the strongest group of teams in the SEC in the history of the conference," Collen said. "There's 14 teams in this league and 12 of these teams are good enough to go to the NCAA tournament today. We're in a battle and we're going to fight."

Arkansas takes its fight on the road and faces Georgia on Thursday. Opening tip is scheduled for 6 p.m., as the game will be televised nationally on CSS and ESPN3.

The price for this season's luncheon is $12 payable by cash or check at the door. Remaining luncheon dates are February 10 and March 10. Contact the Razorback Marketing Office at 479-575-6055 for more information.

Season tickets are still available for the 2013-14 season. New this year, fans can choose their seat each game when they purchase a General Admission Season Ticket for $45. Reserved Season Tickets are $90 and Family Plans are available for $100. Included in the Family Plan is two adult and two youth general admission season tickets.
