FAYETTEVILLE -- The No. 51 University of Arkansas women's tennis team (2-0) was predicted to finish 11th in the 2014 Southeastern Conference Standings, as announced by the women's tennis coaches' preseason poll.
Off to a 2-0 start for the second straight season, the Razorbacks finished with a 13-15 overall record last season, including a 4-9 mark in conference play. Arkansas has notched double-digit victories in nine consecutive seasons.
Florida was picked to claim the SEC title this season after going 26-3 and 12-1 in the SEC last season. The Gators are currently ranked No. 2 in the ITA National Rankings.
Continuing to prove a league lined from top to bottom with reputable competition, there are currently a total of six SEC teams ranked in the top 25 of the ITA National Rankings, including three in the top 10.
The SEC preseason poll is voted on by the women's tennis head coach at each institution and is based on a 14-13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 vote. The team they vote in the number one spot gets their vote for overall champion, with each vote counting as one point.

Opening its season by sweeping a home doubleheader against Wichita State, Arkansas prepares next for ITA Kickoff Weekend in Athens, Ga., where the Razorbacks will open against No. 55 Kansas State on Friday, Jan. 24.
