Top Teams to Compete at Razorback Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas men’s and women’s track and field team will host the Razorback Invitational Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1 at Randal Tyson Track Center. The participating teams will be Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Kentucky, Texas, Texas A&M and Tulsa.

USTFCCCA National Meet of the Week
The Razorback Invitational has been tabbed the National Meet of the Week by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). With a combined 14 of the nation’s top-25 teams, this weekend’s meet features the top athletes in the nation on both the men’s and women’s side.

Razorbacks Steady in the USTFCCCA Rankings
Following a No. 1 debut in the USTFCCCA preseason rankings, the men’s team holds on to its top spot in this week’s regular-season rankings. On the women’s side, the Razorbacks held on strong to their No. 7 ranking in the first regular-season rankings of the season.

Nation’s Top Teams Head to Randal Tyson Track Center
This weekend’s meet will feature some of the top teams in the country, as Arkansas hosts seven ranked opponents on both the men’s and women’s side.
Men’s Ranked Teams – No. 2 Florida, No. 5 Texas A&M, No. 6 Florida State, No. 10 Oklahoma State, No. 19 Texas, No. 20 Stanford.
Women’s Ranked Teams – No. 2 Texas, No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 4 Florida, No. 6 Kentucky, No. 9 Stanford, No. 17 Florida State.

What to Watch: Collegiate Leaders

Among the 14 nationally-ranked teams that will compete Friday and Saturday, several collegiate leaders will face off at Randal Tyson Indoor. Below are the nation’s top track and field athletes currently leading the NCAA.
>> Prezel Hardy, Jr. - Texas A&M - 60m (6.56) & 200m (20.70)
>> Deon Lendore - Texas A&M - 400m (45.74)
>> Hickey, Bailey, Jr., Roudette, Lendore - Texas A&M) – 4x400 relay (3:05.43)
>> Jonathan Reid – Florida State – Triple Jump (53-3.75)
>> Dezerea Bryant – Kentucky – 60m (7.19)
>> Kamaria Brown – Texas A&M – 200m (22.96)
>> Phillips, Bryant, Whaley, Harrison – Kentucky – 4x400 relay (3:33.35)
>> LaQue Moen-Davis – Texas A&M – Triple Jump (44-3.25)

Meet Schedule
Multi events (pentathlon and heptathlon) will begin Friday at 12 p.m. with field events starting at 4 p.m. Friday’s running events are slated to begin at 6 p.m. Saturday’s schedule starts with final sections of the heptathlon, field events and running events all beginning at noon.
