Rivals.com tabbed him as the No. 37 prospect in Texas and the nation's 35th-best offensive tackle. ESPN gave him a grade of 78 and ranked him the No. 78 prospect in Texas and the No. 40 offensive tackle in the nation. Pruitt was ranked as the No. 51 prospect from Texas and the No. 52 offensive tackle in the country by 247Sports.com. In 2013, he was a team captain and earned honorable-mention all-state and first-team all-district acclaim as Bishop Dunne had a seven-win season and advanced to the second round of the state playoffs. He was coached at Bishop Dunne by Michael Johnson and Ken Davis. Pruitt chose Arkansas over numerous other offers including Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, UCLA and Washington.
