– The University of Arkansas softball team continues its non-conference schedule with a road trip to the FGCU/Four Points by Sheraton Round Robin in Ft. Myers, Fla. Winners of six-consecutive games, the Razorbacks open play Friday against Eastern Michigan at 10:15 a.m. (CT) with competition running through Sunday. Arkansas carries an 8-3 record through the first 11 games of the season.

In addition to the Razorbacks, this weekend’s field of teams includes Eastern Michigan, host Florida Gulf Coast, Harvard, North Dakota and Villanova. With the exception of Eastern Michigan, Arkansas will be facing each team for the first time in program history. Arkansas’ only previous experience against the field is a 6-1 win over Eastern Michigan during the 2000 season in Miami.
Arkansas extended their winning streak to six games Wednesday with a 9-1 win over Northwestern State in five innings at Bogle Park. Seniors Jayme Gee
and Chloe Oprzedek
paced the offense with two RBI each while freshman Grace Moll
registered her third complete game of the season. The Razorbacks jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first inning and capped the win with an RBI single off the bat of pinch hitter Sierra Bronkey
in the bottom of the fifth.
Over the last six games, Arkansas is hitting .351 at the plate while its pitchers have posted a 0.41 ERA which adds up to the team outscoring its opponents by a combined 53-3 tally. Twenty of the team’s 47 hits during the stretch have gone for extra bases including eight home runs.
Junior Kasey Fagan
has a team-high .464 batting average and 16 RBI and is tied with freshman Parker Pocklington
for the team lead with three home runs each. Junior Devon Wallace
leads the team and SEC with 16 walks from her lead-off position in the lineup. Collectively, the Razorbacks carry a .309 batting average into the weekend. In the circle, Moll has a team-leading four wins with junior Kimmy Beasley
leading the way with 27 strikeouts in 19.2 innings pitched.
