ATHENS, Ga. – The Arkansas swimming and diving team earned six new personal records over three events during the fourth morning of prelims on Friday at the SEC Championships held at the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. The team qualified two swimmers for tonight’s finals session, including junior Nikki Daniels (Wichita, Kan.), who will be Arkansas’ first swimmer in an A Final. The team will also participate in the 400-yard medley relay.

Daniels swam a season-best time of 59.63 in the 100 breaststroke to lead the Razorbacks in the event. The NCAA ‘B’ cut time earned her a spot in the A Final and also marked the fourth-fastest time in the event in program history. Junior Julia Banach (Eilat, Israel) swam a 1:02.81 in the event, and freshman Mary Margaret Soderberg (San Antonio, Texas) posted a personal-best time of 1:04.49. Sophomore Erika McGovern (Tulsa, Okla.) rounded out the Razorbacks in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.39.

Sophomore Anna Mayfield earned a career-best time of 53.67 in the 100 backstroke. The NCAA ‘B’ cut time secured her a spot in the B Final and was also the second-fastest time in Arkansas history. Mayfield led a contingency of Razorbacks who also swam personal-best times. Freshman Sarah Easterling (Cumberland, Maine) finished with a time of 56.11 and senior Aubrey Golbek (Noblesville, Ind.) swam a 56.47, both personal-best times.

Golbek swam a second career-best time in the 200 butterfly with a 2:01.92. Freshman Katie Kearbey (Nevada, Mo.) clocked a personal record of 2:03.00, followed by fellow freshman Anna Williams (Naperville, Ill.) with a 2:05.73.

Finals will begin at 5 p.m. CT. Live streaming of the finals sessions will be available beginning at 5 p.m. and will be available on ESPN3. Links to the live streams are available at ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
