FT. MYERS, Fla. – With a pair of standout performances, the University of Arkansas softball team posted two wins Friday at the FGCU/Four Points by Sheraton Round Robin. The Razorbacks downed Eastern Michigan, 13-0, behind a no-hitter from Grace Moll and three home runs by the offense. In its second game of the day, Arkansas scored a school-record 20 runs in a victory over North Dakota.

Arkansas improves to 10-3 on the season and extends its winning streak to eight games. The Razorbacks return to the FGCU Softball Complex for two more games Saturday beginning with an 8 a.m. (CT) matchup with Villanova, followed by a game against host Florida Gulf Coast at 2:45 p.m.

GAME 1 vs. Eastern Michigan
With her performance Friday morning, Moll won her fifth-consecutive start to improve to 5-1 this season. Her no-hit effort is Arkansas’ first since April 20, 2013, when former Razorbacks Hope McLemore and Chelsea Cohen combined to blank No. 17 Kentucky in Fayetteville. Moll faced the minimum through five innings with her only blemish—a third-inning walk—erased with a double play. The Shelbyville, Ill., native struck out six EMU hitters.

The Razorbacks scored a season-high 13 runs in their morning victory over Eastern Michigan and tied a season high with three home runs in the game. Jayme Gee paced the offense with five RBI while Stephanie Canfield and Clarisa Navarro each scored three runs. Arkansas’ three home runs came off the bats of Gee, Amanda Geile and Devon Wallace. Five different players posted at least two hits including Chloe Oprzedek who led all players with three base hits.

GAME 2 vs. North Dakota
Arkansas batted around twice in the first inning against UND which led to 12 runs in the opening frame. The first five hitters in the lineup all reached and scored twice in the first. Wallace hit her second home run of the day, a three-run shot to deep right center, in her second plate appearance of the game. Nine different players registered a hit including three each from Canfield and Geile. Navarro matched Gee’s output from game one with five RBI.

Kimmy Beasley flirted with a no-hitter of her own, giving up just one hit to the penultimate hitter of the game. She struck out five UND hitters while walking just one. With Friday’s performance, the Foreman, Ark., native improves to 3-2 on the season and pushes her season total to 32 strikeouts. After walking the second hitter of the game, Beasley retired the next 13 she faced.
