FAYETTEVILLE - On the heels of a standout effort at the plate and in the field, senior Clarisa Navarro has been named the Co-SEC Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday afternoon. The La Joya, Texas, native hit for a .588 batting average in six games to help lead the Razorback offense and push the team to its current 11-game winning streak. This is the first SEC weekly honor of Navarro's career.

Navarro tallied a team-high 12 RBI and registered 10 hits and scored 10 runs during an undefeated week for Arkansas. She had at least one hit, RBI and run scored in each game and reached base safely twice in five of six games last week. Navarro turned in a career-best performance with five RBI in the Razorbacks' 20-1 win over North Dakota, helping the team to a program-best run total.

Defensively, the senior shortstop did not commit an error in 21 chances, posted a team-high 14 assists and was part of turning three double plays. With her six-game performance, she raised her batting average more than 100 points (.308 to .419) and more than doubled her runs (six to 16), hits (eight to 18) and RBI (seven to 19) totals.

The Razorbacks carry a 13-3 record through the first three weeks of the season and have won 11-consecutive games, matching the team's longest streak under head coach Mike Larabee and one behind the all-time program record of 12. Heading into this weekend's Wooo Pig Fastpitch Classic, Arkansas leads the SEC in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, runs scored, RBI, triples, total bases, walks and sacrifice flies.

Arkansas will host Drake, Louisiana Tech and Stephen F. Austin at Bogle Park for this weekend's three-day tournament which begins Friday and runs through Sunday. The Razorbacks will play 10 straight and 13 of their next 14 games on their home field.
