FAYETTEVILLE - Riding an 11-game winning streak, the University of Arkansas softball team is ranked No. 24 in this week's ESPN.com/USA Softball Top-25 poll. The Razorbacks are making their first top-25 appearance in 2014 having received votes in the first three ranking releases of the season.

Arkansas is 13-3 through the first three weeks of its season, including a 6-0 record last week capped by an undefeated run through the FGCU Round Robin in Ft. Myers, Fla. The Razorbacks picked up wins over Northwestern State (9-1), Eastern Michigan (13-0), North Dakota (20-1), Villanova (12-0), FGCU (14-7) and Harvard (9-4) over the past seven days to move up in the national rankings.

Tuesday's release marks the program's fifth appearance inside the USA Softball Top 25, matching its most recent position at No. 24 prior to the 2013 NCAA Tournament. Arkansas earned its first-ever ranking on April 23, 2013, its first of four-consecutive weeks as top-25 team including a program-best No. 21 spot heading into last year's SEC Tournament.

The Razorbacks are one of nine teams from the Southeastern Conference ranked within the USA Softball Top 25, and one of 11 either ranked or receiving votes. Arkansas is the only newcomer to this week's poll and returns to action this weekend by hosting Drake, Louisiana Tech and Stephen F. Austin for the Wooo Pig Fastpitch Classic which begins Friday at Bogle Park and runs through Sunday.

On Monday, senior Clarisa Navarro was named the Co-SEC Player of the Week after a week in which she hit .588 with 12 RBI and 10 runs scored. Overall, Arkansas leads the SEC in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, runs scored, RBI, triples, total bases, walks and sacrifice flies.
