No. 4 Razorbacks in first place at SEC Championships

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 4 Razorbacks are currently in first place after day two at the Southeastern Conference Championships. With 39 points, Arkansas is just ahead of second-place Georgia (33 points).

Following a sold day two performance, the Razorbacks advance four runners to the finals on day two. Chrishuna Williams (400m), Grace Heymsfield (mile), Keri McClary (mile) and Stephanie Brown (800m) will all compete for the championship event title on Saturday. 

It was a successful day for the Razorback pole vaulters, with Ariel Voskamp and Danielle Nowell taking second and third place, respectively. Both cleared a personal-best 14-1.25. Voskamp took down her previous best of 13-11.25 set at the Armory Invitational earlier this season. Nowell’s new personal best replaces her previous best of 13-8.25 which she set at the Cherry & Silver Invitational this year.

Tamara Myers earned a second-place finish in long jump with a mark of 

On Thursday during day one of competition, Alex Gochenour finished fifth in the pentathlon with a personal-best 4,122 points while Leigha Brown placed ninth with 3,952 points.
