No. 14 Gymnastics At No. 9 Nebraska In Final Road Meet

FAYETTEVILLE – The No. 14 University of Arkansas gymnastics team travels to Lincoln, Neb., to compete against No. 9 Nebraska in the team’s final road meet of the season on Saturday, March 8. The meet is slated for a 6 p.m. start.

Senior All-American Katherine Grable comes into the meet as the No. 3 overall gymnast in the country after setting her season-best road score of the season at Georgia with a 39.600 to move her Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) to a 39.580 on the season. Grable has now claimed seven all-around and floor titles this season in eight meets this season. She has a total of 11 scores of 9.95 on the floor to tie former All-American teammate and 2012 SEC Gymnast of the Year, Jaime Pisani, for scores in their career, which Grable will now have a chance to break. Pisani holds the school record on the floor of 9.975.

The Razorbacks come into the meet with a season-best score of 197.100 which the team scored at home in Barnhill Arena against Kentucky. While compared to Nebraska with a high score of 197.225.

Arkansas will feature two gymnasts in the top-25 in the country in Grable at No. 3 and top-freshman in the country, Amanda Wellick, at No. 19 in the rankings. Nebraska brings the No. 4 gymnast in the country in senior Emily Wong and No. 14 Jessie DeZiel in her junior season. Grable owns an RQS score of 39.580 in the all-around while compared to Wong’s score of 39.535. Wellick owns a 39.250 as compared to DeZiel at 39.280.

In the event rankings, the Razorbacks are No. 13 on vault and bars, 10th on beam and No. 18 on the floor. Nebraska, ranks in the top-15 on every event. Individually, sophomore Sydnie Dillard is No. 25 on the beam.
