FAYETTEVILLE – The NCAA has announced the field of competition for the NCAA Gymnastics Regional Championships. The No. 17 Razorbacks will host the NCAA Fayetteville Regional on Saturday, April 5, in Barnhill Arena. The meet is slated for a 4 p.m. start.

The Razorbacks have been selected as the No. 3 seed for the Regional. The rest of the field consists of No. 1 seed Utah, No. 2 seed UCLA, No. 4 seed Arizona State, No. 5 seed Utah State and the No. 6 seed UC Davis.

“At this point, it is a brand new season for everybody,” co-head coach Mark Cook said. “Our team is excited and focused, we are excited to have three Pac-12 teams in Utah, UCLA and Arizona State come to Fayetteville. We are looking forward to an exciting competition and a great experience.”

The NCAA also released the individual competitors that will follow each of the six teams selected to the Regional.  There will be 14 individual competitors joining the field from Missouri, Texas Women’s, Illinois State, Northern Illinois, Southeast Missouri State and Illinois-Chicago.

The meet will feature six rotations with the order of competition that was decided by the NCAA. The six rotations are vault, bye before bars, bars, beam, bye before floor and floor.

In rotation one, the Razorbacks will start on the vault, top-seeded Utah will start on a bye before bars, No. 5 seed Utah State will begin on bars, No. 6 seed UC Davis will begin on the beam, No. 2 seed UCLA will have a bye before floor and the No. 4 seed Arizona State will begin on the floor.

The top two teams and top finishers on all events that are not on the top-two teams will advance to the 2014 NCAA Gymnastics National Championships beginning on Friday, April 18.
