STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Arkansas baseball team (17-8, 4-3 SEC) made it six straight wins Saturday afternoon in game one of a doubleheader at Mississippi State (18-10, 4-3), rolling past the Bulldogs 4-0 at Dudy Noble Field.

The shutout was the fourth in five games for the Razorbacks, while the Bulldogs were shutout for the first time this season and the first time at home in a 66-game span dating back to the 2012 season.

Jalen Beeks (4-2) was sensational on the hill, lasting 8.0 innings and allowing no runs, while scattering nine hits. Michael Gunn came on to work a scoreless ninth inning, as Arkansas pitchers have allowed just two runs over the last 49.1 innings pitched.

Arkansas scored single runs in the second and fourth innings, but finally broke the game open in the fifth frame when Brian Anderson singled home a run with the bases loaded and Eric Fisher added an RBI groundout later in the frame to give Arkansas a 4-0 lead.

Joe Serrano paced the offense, recording three hits and reaching base four times, while Fisher and Bobby Wernes added two hits apiece.

Arkansas and Mississippi State will play game two of Saturday's doubleheader from Dudy Noble Field with first pitch schedule for 5:30 p.m.
