Midweek Matchup vs. #15/17 Tulsa at Bogle Park

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas softball team will play No. 15/17 Tulsa for a second time this season when the two programs meet Wednesday at Bogle Park. The midweek matchup is scheduled for a 6 p.m. (CT) start. Arkansas will play its next four games on its home field and enters the week with a 24-17 overall record.

During the season, UA students and fans 17 years and younger receive free admission to all Arkansas softball games with valid ID. General admission and hot dogs will be $1 for Wednesday’s game. The game will be broadcast on KXUA 88.3 FM in Fayetteville in addition to a video stream online via RazorVision subscription.

The Razorbacks are the fourth-highest scoring team in the country at 7.39 runs per game and ranked seventh with a .533 slugging percentage. Arkansas is also top-20 nationally in batting average, home runs per game and triples per game. With their next score, the Razorbacks will tie the program record of 304 runs set by last year’s team. They will be the only two teams in program history to eclipse the 300-run mark in a single season.

Individually, Devon Wallace leads the NCAA with 45 walks and is the active career leader at 177 walks, 33 more than second place. She begins the week tied for third place in SEC history and 15th in NCAA history. She is also one of five current Razorbacks on the top-10 career home runs list along with Amanda Geile, Clarisa Navarro, Chloe Oprzedek and Jennifer Rambo.

Navarro paces the team at the plate with her .371 batting average while Stephanie Canfield has a team-high 47 hits. In addition leading the team in walks, Wallace has a team-best 10 home runs and 43 runs scored. Kasey Fagan continues to lead the team in RBI with 36 runs driven in. The staff is balanced by five pitchers with at least three wins, led by eight wins from Grace Moll.

Arkansas and Tulsa are meeting for the 25th time with the all-time series tied at 12-12. The two teams previously met this season March 12, a 6-1 victory for the Golden Hurricane in Tulsa. The Razorbacks have won five of the eight games played in Fayetteville. In the previous 24 results between Arkansas and Tulsa, neither team has won more than three times in a row.
