FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Arkansas women's track and field team will host the John McDonnell Invitational this weekend, April 11-12.

The No. 9 Razorbacks welcome Arkansas Baptist, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, South Dakota and Tulsa to John McDonnell Field for the two-day event. Competition will begin Friday afternoon with javelin and hammer throw, picking back up on Saturday with pole vault at 2:30 p.m. Running events are set to begin Saturday at 5 p.m.

Arkansas is coming off the Arkansas Spring Invitational, where the Razorbacks earned nine event titles in their first home outdoor meet of the season. Following the weekend, the Razorbacks moved up five spots to No. 9 in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll.

Stephanie Brown's 800-meter time of 2:04.44 was good for the No. 2 time in the nation, marking her first outdoor race of the season. Junior sprinter Chrishuna Williams set a personal record in the 400-meter (52.75), earning a top-10 place at No. 7 in the NCAA. Sandi Morris made a statement in pole vault last weekend, with a personal-best mark of 14-6.25 that currently ranks No. 3 in the nation.
