Weekend Series vs. South Carolina at Bogle Park

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas softball team will wrap its week-long home stand with an SEC series against South Carolina beginning Friday at 6 p.m. (CT). The Razorbacks enter the weekend with a 24-18 overall record and a 2-10 mark in conference play. Friday’s series opener will also be Senior Day for Jennifer Rambo.

During the season, UA students and fans 17 years and younger receive free admission to all Arkansas softball games with valid ID. General admission tickets are $4 while tickets for groups of 10 or more are $2 at the ticket window. Additionally, fans have an opportunity to rent a suite at Bogle Park. The Razorbacks entered the week as the fourth-highest scoring team in the country at 7.39 runs per game. Individually, Clarisa Navarro continues to lead the team with her .370 batting average while Devon Wallace has a team-high 10 home runs and 43 runs scored. She also leads the NCAA with 46 walks. Stephanie Canfield has a team-high 49 hits. In the team’s last game, Kimmy Beasley made her first start in the circle since Feb. 21.

Friday’s game between Arkansas and South Carolina (26-14, 6-9 SEC) will be the 44th meeting in the all-time series and the first in Fayetteville since the 2011 season. The Gamecocks lead the series, 27-16, and have won four of the last six games between the programs. Under head coach Mike Larabee, Arkansas has won four of the eight meetings with South Carolina.

This weekend, Arkansas will recognize Rambo and Chloe Oprzedek in pre-game ceremonies for their respective Senior Day. Oprzedek will be honored prior to game two. Saturday’s game will also be televised by Cox Sports (CST) with Bernie Guenther and Megan Bush handling the play-by-play and color commentary duties, respectively. Games two and three of the weekend series are slated for a 1 p.m. first pitch.

In addition to Saturday’s TV appearance, all three games of the Arkansas-South Carolina series will be broadcast live on KXUA 88.3 FM in Fayetteville and be streamed online through subscription to RazorVision. In-game updates will also be available on Twitter and with live stats at ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
