BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The 2014 Southeastern Conference Gymnast of the Year Katherine Grable finished second in the all-around competition with a 39.60 which was her highest score at the NCAA Championships. About Grable’s Performance…
“From the beginning our thoughts were to get her through bars and then build some momentum,” co-head coach Rene Lyst said. “She got a little bit ahead of herself on the beam but still scored a 9.85. Then she went and nailed her strengths on vault and floor to score two 9.95’s. This is a big meet, there is always a lot of pressure for some of the gymnast on big teams to make it to the Super Six, so anything can happen. I t was really great to have her comeback and finish as the runner-up.”

What they said… All-American Senior Katherine Grable
About Her Performance…
“It was really fun to get back out and compete for a National Championship,” Grable said. “On the beam, I got caught up a little bit and tried to do too much in my routine instead of just focusing and doing what in know how to do. I am really proud to represent the Razorbacks and I am looking forward to the NCAA Event Finals on Sunday.”

What they said… Freshman Amanda Wellick
About The Experience…
“It was exciting and a lot of fun,” Wellick said. “It was a lot of fun to just be at the meet with Kat. She has been really great to have in the gym to help me train these past two weeks and she has so much personal experience that I was able to learn from.”
