Series History

The Razorbacks last played the Demons during the 2012 season and Arkansas completed the two-game sweep at Baum Stadium, winning by scores of 8-7 and 6-2. NWS last defeated the Razorbacks during the 2001 season.

Back in the National Polls
Following a series victory over No. 11 Vanderbilt last weekend, the Arkansas baseball team appeared in the national polls Monday afternoon, coming in at No. 24 according to Baseball America. For a full story click here.

Baxendale's Bat
Blake Baxendale continued his break-out stretch last week with six more hits, including three straight two-hit games. The freshman is hitting .294 in 12 SEC games with 10 hits, three doubles and 10 runs batted in.

Powerful Trend
After hitting nine home runs through the first 32 games of the season, Arkansas has hit eight home runs in the last nine games. The Razorbacks have hit multiple home runs in a game three times this year and connected with two grand slams this season.

Twice as Nice
The Razorbacks turned three more double plays over the weekend against Vanderbilt to bring the season total to 40, ranking second in the SEC. Arkansas has registered a double play in 24 of the team's 41 games and turned multiple double plays in a game 13 different times.

Wiser Than Most
Jake Wise has turned into a nightmare for opponent behind the plate with an SEC-leading five pickoffs and 14 runners caught stealing. He has thrown out four runners in as many games, including one in each of the first two games against Vanderbilt.

Legendary Pitching Staff
The Arkansas pitching staff is putting together one of the most dominant seasons in program history in 2014, amassing a 2.33 earned run average through the first 41 games to rank in the top 15 nationally. The seven shutouts already rank in the top 10 for a single season, with the record being set with 13 shutouts in 51 games during the 1977 season. The 2.33 ERA currently ranks second in program history, sitting only behind a 1.89 ERA in 61 games last season.
