FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas men’s track and field team travels to Des Moines, Iowa this week for the Drake Relays.

The No. 4 Razorbacks will run in a majority of the relay events, as they compete for the Hy-Vee Cup, an award presented to the highest-scoring relay teams at the meet. For the first time during the outdoor season, Arkansas will be putting together a distance medley relay team of Andrew Pisechko, Travis Southard, Cale Wallace and Patrick. In addition, Arkansas will run the sprint medley relay for the first time since winning the event at the Texas Relays in March, as Jarrion Lawson, Curtis Brown, Eric Janise and Tomas Squella take the track.

Anthony May, Raymond Higgs and Clive Pullen will represent Arkansas in jumps, joined by Kevin Lazas in long jump. The high jump squad of May, Dwayne Golbek, Ken LeGassey and Noah Kittelson will assume their roles at the Drake Relays, earning eight top-five finishes so far this season. Arkansas will be well-represented in throws with Pete Mirocke and Lazas competing in javelin for the Razorbacks and Devin Randall in discuss and shotput.

The four-day meet kicked off Wednesday with running events beginning Friday and concluding Saturday afternoon. Lane Austell, Brad Culp and Nathanael Franks started competition in the decathlon on Wednesday. Franks leads the Razorback contingent after day one with 3,606 points with Austell in 13th with 3,376 points. Culp did not compete in the 400-meter, only finishing the first four events.
