Player of the Week:

Eric Fisher - 1B - 6-3 - 210 - Spring, Texas

Notes: Eric Fisher extended his hitting streak to eight games last week with seven hits, including two multi-hit contests and a three-hit performance against No. 10 Ole Miss. He drove in four runs over the final two games of the series against the Rebels and added two doubles on the week. Fisher ended the week 7-for-15 at the plate for a .467 batting average and added two walks and nine total bases.

Pitcher of the Week:

Chris Oliver - RHP - 6-4 - 180 - Farmington, Ark.

Notes: Chris Oliver rose to the occasion in the Sunday series finale at Ole Miss, tossing 7.0 innings and giving up one run on five hits, while walking three and striking out five. After giving up a run in the first inning, he settled in and left the bases loaded in the second frame before facing the minimum over the next five innings to take complete control of the Rebel hitters. Oliver his won each of his last four outings against ranked opponents as Arkansas moved to 6-2 on the year in SEC series finales.

Freshman of the Week:

Dominic Taccolini - RHP - 6-3 - 230 - Sugar Land, Texas

Notes: Freshman right-handed pitcher Dominic Taccolini was brilliant in two appearances out of the bullpen last week, tossing 2.0 innings in each outing and allowing just one hit and no runs. He opened the week with 2.0 hitless innings with a pair of strikeouts at Missouri State to earn his second victory of the year, and added two scoreless innings with a strikeout at No. 10 Ole Miss. He set the Rebels down in order on just four pitches in his first inning of work and faced one batter over the minimum to keep Arkansas within striking distance.

Team Notes

  • The Razorbacks have won at least one game in 25 straight SEC series dating back to the 2012 season, currently the second longest streak in the league.
  • Arkansas picked up its eighth victory over a ranked opponent this season on Sunday at No. 10 Ole Miss, including the fourth over a top 10 team.
  • The Razorbacks tied a season-high with three double plays turned in the series finale at Ole Miss to bring the season total to an SEC-leading 49.
  • In Sunday's 11-run outburst at Ole Miss, Arkansas set season-high with 16 hits.
  • Arkansas batted around three times in four games last week, sending nine batters to the plate each time and scoring four runs on each occasion.
  • The Razorbacks have now reached the 30-win plateau in all 12 seasons under head coach Dave Van Horn.
  • Over the last 14 games, the Arkansas bullpen has allowed just three earned runs in 46.2 innings of work.
  • The Razorbacks have held their opponents to two runs or less in 28 of 50 games this year.
  • In his last four starts against ranked opponents, Chris Oliver is 4-0 with wins over No. 1 South Carolina, No. 8 LSU, No. 11 Vanderbilt and now No. 10 Ole Miss.
  • Trey Killian turned in his league-leading fourth complete game of the year Friday against Ole Miss, allowing three runs and striking out five over 8.0 innings.
  • Eric Fisher added seven more hits last week and extended his hitting streak to eight games and raised his average to .266.
