STILLWATER, Okla. –Summar Roachell was one-under throught the first nine holes leading the fourth-ranked University of Arkansas women's golf in first round action at the NCAA Central Regional at Karsten Creek Thursday.

The No. 4 Razorbacks teed off beginning at 8:36 a.m. with dark, rainy conditions.  By the time the final Razorback, Gabriela Lopez, teed off at 9:20 a.m., the rain had eased up and the windy reappeared.

Karsten Creek, a visually challenging course with narrow approaches, a lot of creveses and water, became more challenging as the day went on.

Arkansas turned tied for fourth place as a team but the sun came out and temps rose quickly while the wind continued to increase.

With those challenges, Arkansas will have to finish strong to stay in the top of the field.

Seventy-two teams and 18 individuals were selected and split between three NCAA Regional sites with the top eight teams and top two individuals moving on to the NCAA Championship later this month.

What do you need to know about the NCAA Central Regional?  Here is the 411 on what the Razorbacks will face this week.

* Location-wise, this draw is great for us.  We are finishing up finals and will drive over after we are done and focus on golf.  It allows our team to do well in school and do well on the course this week.
* The field is really good in the Central Regional.  We have a tough draw and we are going to have to have a good plan in place.  Fortunately, Stillwater (Okla.) and Karsten Creek is similar to the Blessings.  We got some really good work in here over the week and are ready to go.
* If we play our best, it will be good enough.
* We worked on tidying up some short-game stuff this week and worked on some shots we will see over there this week.
