FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas graduate student Emily Podzielinski was selected to the Southeastern Conference’s Women’s Golf Community Service Team, the league office announced today.

Podzielinski, in her third year with the No. 4 Razorbacks, graduated last year and is pursuing her master’s degree at Arkansas.  The Nobelsville, Ind., native, has always been a strong supporter of the Razorbacks’ community service efforts and has taken part in several events in 2013-14.

Some of those events include volunteering with Code Red Soccer and Swimming, taking part in a charity golf scramble, working with Sweat Hogs at Happy Hollow, and Owl Creek elementary schools, reading with Book Hogs, collecting food items for several area food banks, working Lift Up America, raising funds for the Arkansas Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, taking part in the Yes We CAN Canned Food Drive, planting trees at River in the Gardens, participating in the Jingle Bell 5K for rheumatoid arthritis, attending the MLK Day march, taking area underprivileged youth shopping around the holidays and donating blood.

The fourth-ranked Razorbacks are in the midst of NCAA Central Regional action at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Okla., this weekend.  Round two will wrap up around 6:30 p.m. Friday followed by final round action Saturday.  The top eight teams in each of three NCAA Regional sites will move on to the NCAA Championship in Tulsa, Okla., later this month.
