FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The 2014-15 University of Arkansas women’s basketball season is still a long ways off but it is never too early to start talkin’ hoops.

Each Monday, we are going to profile one of the teams who are expected to be on the Razorbacks’ schedule this year.  First-year head coach Jimmy Dykes and his staff have worked hard to create a competitive non-conference schedule that will excited fans and prepare the Razorbacks for the always-grueling test that the Southeastern Conference will bring after the holidays.

Check back with us each Monday as we unveil another team who is on the horizon for Arkansas.  Remember, this is not meant to be the complete schedule and that the teams mentioned in these stories are subject to change as are the suggested play dates.  Please check ArkansasRazorbacks.com after the complete official schedule is released.

EXHIBITON ACTION
The Razorbacks are tentatively scheduled to open with an exhibition game against Northeastern State University before beginning regular season action in 2014-15.

The Razorbacks began hosting other teams in exhibition action in the 1980s taking part in the program’s first “practice” game in 1984 hosting a Korean touring team.  Since that time, Arkansas is 3011 all-time in exhibition games.  The Razorbacks are 10-0 against other NCAA teams and are currently in the midst of the program’s longest exhibition game winning streak, with 10 victories.

Arkansas has never faced Northeastern State during the regular season but the teams did meet in exhibition action in 2009 with Arkansas escaping with a 55-68 win Oct. 23.
