MEMPHIS, Tenn. – From the start of the tournament all the way through the 72nd hole, former Arkansas men’s golf standout Austin Cook didn’t seem overwhelmed by making his PGA Tour Debut at the FedEx St. Jude Classic. Highlighted by a first round three-under 67 and third round five-under 65, Cook tied for 13th overall, just a week removed from qualifying for the event.

Followed all weekend by large group of family and friends, while playing the final two rounds with former teammate and former roommate David Lingmerth, Cook concluded the 72-hole tournament at five-under par, finishing in front of PGA Tour standouts Graeme McDowell, Dustin Johnson, Davis Love III, Retief Goosen, Zach Johnson and others.

A native of Jonesboro, Ark., Cook’s 67-73-65-70 scorecard on the par 70 course featured 19 birdies, as he and Lingmerth were two of the last grouping of players to make the 36-hole cut at even-par. Cook qualified for the FedEx St. Jude Classic with a pair of 65s in a Friday opening qualifier and a Sunday final round qualifier last weekend held at Windyke Country Club in Memphis.

Part of Arkansas’ NCAA Championship runner-up squad in 2009, Lingmerth made the cut for the third straight weekend on the PGA Tour, bouncing back from a 77 in the first round with seven-under 63 that included birdies on three of his final four holes. Lingmerth, who tied for fifth a couple of weekends ago at the Crowne Plaza Invitational, finished in a tie for 69th place.
