FAYETTEVILLE – Each Monday during the summer, www.ArkansasRazorbacks.com will recap the previous week of summer action for @RazorbackMGolf as members of the team play in some of the best tournaments around the country, while keeping up with all the #ProHOGS on tour. This week’s #RazorRewind spotlights the play of juniors-to-be Kolton Crawford and Nicolas Echavarria.

Arkansas’ top finisher at the NCAA Columbia Regional, Crawford’s solid play continued this past weekend at the 105th Texas Amateur where he posted a top 10 finish. Highlighted by a three-under 68 which equaled the lowest final round in the field, Crawford tied for 10th overall with a four-day score of 72-70-78-68/288 (+4). A native of Mansfield, Texas, he played the back nine at Brook Hollow Golf Club at two-under for the week.

The event was the second of the summer for Crawford, who was just two strokes away from one of three qualifying spots for U.S. Open out of Lakeside Country Club in Houston.

Just days removed from a dominating win at the 2014 Mexican Amateur, Echavarria made the long trip north to Johnstown, Pa. for the prestigious 61st Annual Sunnehanna Amateur. Despite the long travel, Echavarria picked up right where he left off with an opening round three-under 67. Echavarria was solid all week on the par 70 layout, finishing in a tie for 15th place at one-over (67-73-70-71) at the 72-hole event.

The third member of Arkansas’ strong junior class, Taylor Moore tied for 42nd at the Sunnehanna Amateur. Moore put together rounds of 71, 70, 75 and 72.

#RazorStat Of The Week

Over his last two tournaments (8 rounds) at the Mexican AM and Sunnehanna AM, Echavarria has a combined 41 birdies and made back-to-back bogeys just three times over the 144 holes.

The Week Ahead

Alvaro Ortiz > 2014 Junior Golf World Cup in Toyota City, Japan (June 24-27)
Alec Tahy > The Rice Planters Amateur in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. (June 18-21)

#ProHOGS Take Aim At Travelers Championship
Former Razorbacks David Lingmerth (2010) and Tag Ridings will each take the tee box on Thursday for the start of the Travelers Championship held at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Ct. Lingmerth has made the cut in each of his last three events, highlighted by a tie for 5th at the Crowne Plaza Invitational, and is currently 122nd in the FedEx Cup race.
