FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas women’s tennis team had five of its players receive accolades to the 2014 Spring Southeastern Conference (SEC) Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office in July.

Sophomores Flavia Araujo, Brittany Huxley, Kristen Mee, Yang Pang and Kimberley - Ann Surin are among the women’s tennis players honored.

Selections are based on grades from the 2013 summer, 2013 Fall and 2014 spring terms. In all, 76 student-athletes across the university were named to the list.

To be eligible for selection to the spring SEC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 or above, successfully completed 24 semesters (or 36 quarter hours) at the nominating institution and been a member of a varsity team for the sport’s entire NCAA Championship season.

In addition to success on court, head coach Michael Hegarty has established a solid foundation in the classroom as well. Since 2004, a total of 40 Razorbacks have been named to the SEC Honor Roll. The Razorbacks also owned a team grade-point average of 3.202 for the 2013-14 academic year.
