FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Three University of Arkansas women’s golfers advanced in match play action at two events on Thursday.

Juniors Gabriela Lopez and Regina Plasencia both moved on to the round of 16 at the 112th Women’s North & South Amateur at Pinehurst Country Club.

Lopez faces Jullian Hollis of Rocky River, Ohio, at 2 p.m. and Plasencia takes on Ally McDonald of Fulton, Miss., at the same time.  If both players win, they will face each other in the round of eight at the amateur event.

Incoming Razorback Alana Urielle is taking part in the U.S. Women’s Public Links Amateur Championship at The Home Course in Dupont, Wash.

Urielle shot a 138 in stroke play and entered as the No. 4 seed in match play.  She defeated Jacqueline Bendrick of Mercer Island, Wash., 2&1 on Wednesday in the first round of match play..  Urielle next defeated Leilanie Kim of Canada, 1-up in 19 holes Thursday morning.

Uriell next defeated Robynn Ree of Redondo Beach, Calif., again winning 1-up and needing 21 holes for the victory.  She faces Gabriella Tehn of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., at 10:10 a.m. in the round of 16 as play continues.

Former Razorback Stacy Lewis opened with a first-round 70 and is tied for 33rd overall at the Marathon Classic presented by Owens Corning and )-! At Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio.  Play continues through the weekend.
