OUTLOOK: A veteran of 29 collegiate contests, he has been Arkansas’ starting left tackle for the past two seasons. He has been instrumental in the Razorbacks’ dominating rushing attack. He has all the physical tools to be one of the best offensive tackles in the SEC. The two-sport athlete missed portions of spring practice while competing in the discus for the UA track and field team. He appears primed for a career year as the Razorbacks’ starter at left tackle.

2006 (Track and Field): He made five appearances in the indoor season competing in the weight throw. He marked a season-best throw of 59-0.75 at the New Balance Invite on Feb. 4, where he finished fifth, and finished a season-high second at the Razorback Invitational on Jan. 21 with a toss of 57-11.25. During the outdoor season, he competed in the discus on five occasions. He marked a season-best toss of 164-7 in his first meet of the season at the Texas Relays. He finished 12th in Austin. At the TCU Invitational, he earned his highest finish of the season, seventh, with a throw of 162-6. He ended the season with a 20th-place finish and a throw of 140-8.5 at the SEC Championships.

2005: A mainstay on the Hogs’ offensive front, he started all 11 games at left tackle. He was a key contributor to the Razorbacks’ SEC-leading 216.9 yards per game on the ground. The rushing average also ranked Arkansas 12th in the nation in that category. He cleared the way for 10 100-yard rushing performances and a 1,000-yard rusher (Darren McFadden). He also led the team in knockdown blocks with 64 and led the Razorbacks in that statistic in five games (Missouri State, USC, Alabama, Ole Miss and LSU). – He recorded a team-high 11 knockdown blocks and graded out at 87 percent on 67 snaps in the season opener against Missouri State. He helped three UA running backs gain 100-yards or more in the victory. He racked up a season-high 14 knockdowns on 74 snaps against Vanderbilt. He graded out at 90 percent in the SEC opener against the Commodores. He tallied five knockdown blocks at No. 1 USC. He graded out at 82 percent at Alabama and tied for the team lead with three knockdown blocks. He also made his second career tackle against the Crimson Tide. He played 59 snaps against Louisiana-Monroe, earning an 88 percent grade and six knockdown blocks. He graded out at 87 percent against Auburn, tallying one knockdown block against the Tigers. He had nine knockdown blocks in 72 snaps at No. 4. Georgia. He also netted a grade of 88 percent against the Bulldogs. He had two knockdown blocks and graded out at 90 percent on 73 snaps against South Carolina. He led the team with three knockdown blocks at Ole Miss, while grading out at a team-best 85 percent on 62 snaps. He helped clear the way for 247 yards rushing against Mississippi State. He graded out at 86 percent on 67 snaps with four knockdown blocks. He also made a tackle against the Bulldogs. He finished the season with a team-high six knockdown blocks at No. 3 LSU.

2005 (Track and Field): He competed in the throwing events for Arkansas, and his best performance came at the SEC Indoor Championships when he registered a personal-best and school-record mark of 60-4.50 for seventh place in the shot put. His two points helped Arkansas claim its 12th indoor league title. During the outdoor campaign he regionally qualified in the discus with a career-best throw of 172-01 at the Penn Relays and moved up to fourth on UA’s all-time top 10 list.

2004: He started 10 of 11 games at left tackle for the Razorbacks. He missed the Georgia game after recovering from kidney stones. He averaged an 87.7 percent grade on running plays and a 92.3 percent on passing plays on the campaign. He graded out at 91 percent or better in six of 10 contests. He collected 42 knockdown blocks in 10 games of action for an average of 4.2 knockdowns a contest. He earned four or more knockdowns in seven of 10 games, including seven of his last eight contests of the season. He helped the Hogs boast the second-best rushing offense in the SEC and the 22nd-best rushing attack in the nation with an average of 187.4 yards per game. – In 44 snaps against New Mexico State, he earned three knockdown blocks and an overall grade of 91 percent (92 run, 90 pass). The Hogs racked up 548 yards against the Aggies. He garnered a team-best grade of 97 percent with one knockdown block against No. 7 Texas. He graded out at 97 percent in both the running and passing games. He recorded eight knockdown blocks and helped the Hogs rack up 571 yards of total offense against Louisiana-Monroe. He posted 96 percent and 95 percent grades, in run blocking and pass blocking, respectively. He logged 66 snaps against the Indians. He earned a 91 percent overall grade on 62 snaps against Alabama. He garnered a team-high 93 percent grade on rushing plays and an 89 percent mark on passing plays. He also racked up four knockdown blocks against the Crimson Tide. He earned a team-high grade of 88 percent and recorded a team-best four knockdown blocks in the Hogs’ loss to No. 16 Florida. He graded out at 80 percent in the running game and 96 percent on passing plays. He logged 56 snaps and graded out at 87 percent in the passing game in the Razorbacks’ 38-20 loss to No. 4 Auburn. He earned a team-leading six knockdown blocks against the Tigers. He did not play against No. 6 Georgia after suffering a bout with kidney stones earlier in the week. He returned to the starting lineup at left tackle against South Carolina. He logged 72 snaps, garnering a grade of 90.5 percent against the Gamecocks. He graded out at 89 percent in the run game and 92 percent in the passing game against USC. He also tallied a team-high four knockdown blocks against the Gamecocks. He racked up five knockdown blocks and recorded a grade of 87.5 percent in Arkansas’ 35-3 win over Ole Miss. He charted at 85 percent in the running game and 90 percent in the passing game against the Rebels. He helped the Hogs rack up 452 yards of total offense, including 297 rushing yards, in the conference win. He logged 79 snaps in the Razorbacks’ 24-21 win over Mississippi State. He earned a grade of 92 percent (94 run, 90 pass) and three knockdowns against the Bulldogs. He was part of a blocking front that helped De’Arrius Howard rush for a career-high 125 yards. He posted an 88 percent mark, including a 97 percent clip on passing plays, in the Hogs’ season finale against No. 12 LSU. He recorded four knockdown blocks and also made a tackle against the Tigers.

2004 (Track and Field): He competed in only one meet in the spring. On April 10, he threw 140-05 in the discus to finish in seventh place at the John McDonnell Invitational.

2003: He appeared in eight games with most of his action coming late in the season. In fact, he played in Arkansas’ final seven games. He logged 21 snaps in the Razorbacks’ non-conference win over North Texas. He graded out at 87.5 percent, including a perfect 100 percent rating on pass plays. He saw limited snaps against Ole Miss and Kentucky. He was on the field for nine plays against South Carolina. Against New Mexico State, he played 14 snaps and earned two knockdown blocks. He played a season-high 25 snaps and graded a perfect 100 percent in a 52-6 win over Mississippi State. He garnered five knockdown blocks against the Bulldogs. He took the field for some snaps late against LSU and in the Independence Bowl against Missouri.

2003 (Track and Field): He joined John McDonnell’s squad in time for the outdoor season as he competed in the discus throw at six meets.  His best mark came at the SEC Championships where he threw for 155-00 and an 11th-place showing.

2002: He played against Boise State and South Florida before injuring his knee. He was awarded a medical hardship for his abbreviated season.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: A prep football standout, he was rated as the No. 5 offensive tackle in the country by Rivals100.com and the No. 64 prospect overall out of high school. USA Today listed him as one of the top 125 players in the country. Tom Lemming’s Prep Football Report rated him the No. 32 player in Texas while the Houston Chronicle listed him in the top 100. He was rated as Texas’ No. 13 player by David Garvin’s Heartland Recruiting. Insiders.com placed him as the No. 83 overall prospect and the No. 10 offensive lineman in the nation. Max Emfinger rated him as the No. 10 offensive lineman in the nation. He was also recruited by Florida, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma and Florida State.
