2012-13 Preview:
Solid defender that has a feel for blocking shots ... also has a nice shot and can hit the mid-range jumper … CBS New York tabbed him as a breakout player this season … ESPN tabbed him as the No. 9 shot blocker in the nation ... Lindy’s Sports preview has him as an honors candidate ... blocked seven shots in four games in Italy while hitting nearly 60 percent from the field ... according to Coach Anderson “last year he was thrown in to the fire and I thought responded in a positive way. He has a great pair of hands and can knock shots down. He will be a better rebounder this year, can block shots and move his feet.  For a guy of his size, he can run the floor and move in traffic.  Now we just need to get him more consistent.”

2011-12 (Freshman):
Emerged as one of the best shot blockers in the nation while also contributing on the offensive end … averaged 5.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks  … led the team in blocked shots … set the school record for blocked shots by a freshman (72) … set the school record for consecutive games with a blocked shot to begin a career (20) … sixth player in school history to block at least 70 shots in a season … scored in double figures five times … scored a career high 13 points against Texas Southern with four rebounds and a career best seven blocked shots … matched his seven-block performance against LSU while adding four rebounds … snagged a career best eight rebounds, six offensive, and five assists against Grambling State … tallied 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting in Arkansas’ upset of No. 20 Michigan with four rebounds … made two appearances on ESPN SportCenter’s Top 10 plays with a spin-drop-step against Vanderbilt and block against Georgia … led Arkansas in rebounding five times including the final two games … ranked fourth in the SEC and 39th in the nation in blocked shots … given team defensive award by Razorback coaches.

In High School:
Three-time all-state … four-year all-conference … state MVP as a junior … four-year state all-tournament team … nominated for McDonald’s All-American as a senior … averaged 22 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks per game as a senior … Led Westside High School to a state championship as a junior … career highs of 33 points, 20 rebounds, and 15 blocks … won the AAU National Championship with his Arkansas Wings team in 2011 … rated the No. 54 player in the nation by ESPN, No. 100 by Rivals and No. 54 by Scout.com … signed with the Razorbacks after also considering Baylor, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Stanford and Wake Forest.

Personal:
Son of Darien and Lynne Mickelson … born March 5, 1992 … he is enrolled in the College of Education & Health Professions.
