Arkansas-Valparaiso postgame notes

RELATED LINKS
•    With the win, Arkansas improves to 7-0 on the season and Valparaiso is 2-3 after the loss.
•    The Razorbacks’ 7-0 start is the program’s best since the 2006 team opened the year with nine consecutive wins.
•    Arkansas has now won 17 straight games in the month of February and is 236-70-1 since the 1960 season in February.
•    Arkansas recorded its second come-from-behind win this season, rallying from an early 3-0 deficit.
•    Senior Bo Bigham recorded his second straight multi-hit game and his third of the season, going 2-for-4 with a RBI. Bigham has had at least one RBI in each of the last three games for Arkansas. Bigham also added a stolen base in the win.
•    Redshirt senior Tim Carver extended his streak of games with at least one RBI to five, driving in the eventual game-winning run in the sixth and finishing the game 1-for-2.
•    Junior Matt Reynolds reached base three times in the game, recording a hit and also reaching base on a walk and a hit by pitch. For the season, Reynolds is now hitting .591, while his on-base percentage through the first seven games is .710.
•    Sophomore Ryne Stanek earned his second win in as many starts this season, giving up three runs, just one earned, and striking out four in six innings. Stanek is 2-0 on the season with a 1.80 ERA.
•    Barrett Astin recorded his first save of the season, pitching the last two innings and giving up just one hit and striking out one. Astin wiggled out of trouble in each of the last two innings to earn the save. Astin has not allowed a run and has struck out eight in seven innings this season.
•    Arkansas wraps up the three-game series with Valparaiso on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. Junior left hander Randall Fant will start for Arkansas, while senior righty Kevin Wild will get the ball for Valparaiso.
