MADISON, Wis. – University of Arkansas senior Kemoy Campbell navigated the 8K course at the 2013 Wisconsin adidas Invitational in a winning time of 23:12 to lead the field of 288 runners on Saturday. The No. 6 Razorbacks finished in seventh place out of 35 teams after accumulating 266 points.

No. 3 Northern Arizona claimed the team title with 121 pints followed by No. 5 BYU with 174 points and No. 7 Portland with 216 points.

Campbell was the leader throughout the race while a couple of Razorbacks were able to finish in the chase pack. Junior Stanley Kebenei finished with a time of 23:41, good for 23rd place, and was followed shortly by sophomore Gabe Gonzales in 67th place with at time of 24:10.

“Kemoy was solid,” head coach Chris Bucknam said. “He doesn’t think it was his best race, but anytime you lead a race from start to finish is an impressive feat. It was an impressive performance and he has plenty left in the tank.”

To finish out the scoring for the Razorbacks, senior Solomon Haile crossed the line with a time of 24:13 in 75th place and sophomore Patrick Rono crossed at 24:22 in 100th place to give the Razorbacks their 266 points.

“Obviously we were hoping to have a little bit higher finish,” Bucknam said. "We still have a lot of season left, we are set up right now for SEC Championship and nationals and we know our best races are still ahead of us.”

Out of the scoring lineup, sophomore Cale Wallace finished with a time 24:45 and senior David Flynn followed suit at 24:50 to finish the race for the Razorbacks.

In the “B” race, freshman Aidan Swain and Noah Findlay finished together at 39th and 40th place with times of 25:48 and 25:55, respectively. Also, sophomore Arch Robertson crossed the line in 26:46 for a 49th-place finish.

The Razorbacks now prepare for the 2013 SEC Championship which will be held in Gainesville, Fla. on Saturday, Nov. 1. The men’s 8K is slated for an 8 a.m. start.
