FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas cross country teams were scheduled to run Saturday morning at the Missouri Southern Stampede in Joplin, Mo. However, due to poor weather conditions and continued delays the Razorbacks will not compete.
The women's 5K race was scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. (CT), while the men's 8K race was set to be run at 9:15 a.m. The 23rd annual MSSU Stampede had attracted nearly 2,000 runners split between its collegiate and high school competitions.
With the now-open date, Arkansas' men will begin preparations for their next meet, the Oct. 1 running of the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla., hosted by top-ranked and defending national champion Oklahoma State.
