FAYETTEVILLE - University of Arkansas head football coach John L. Smith met with the media Monday afternoon to discuss the 10th-ranked Razorbacks’ season-opening win against Jacksonville State and preview Saturday’s game against ULM in Little Rock.
Coach Smith commented on the offense’s impressive performance against Jacksonville State and how they took control of the game.
“Once the offense started to get on a roll, the defense could feel it and it carries over, so we go out and make a stop and get it back and get a score,” Coach Smith said. “You just want to keep that rolling as long as you can. It was a great feeling to see the offense take control and do all of that.”
Coach Smith also talked about going to Little Rock to play on Saturday.
“We are looking forward to going to Little Rock,” Coach Smith said. “That’s been great for us. Our kids believe in it. They are excited about it. The walk there and the fans there are as good as it gets. It’s a great atmosphere. We plan on going down there and playing a lot better than we did last week.”
Kickoff for Saturday’s game inside War Memorial Stadium is set for 6 p.m., and the game will be televised on ESPNU.
Little Rock season ticket packages, featuring games against ULM on Sept. 8 and Ole Miss on Oct. 27, are still available for $120. The Razorbacks and Rebels are set to square off inside War Memorial Stadium for the 16th time in series history, including the first meeting and 1913, and the first time since 1992. Tickets purchased for Little Rock contests are not available with a print-at-home option.
Tickets for three Fayetteville games are still on sale. Tickets for the non-conference games against Rutgers and Tulsa are $45, while tickets for the conference matchup against Kentucky are $55. Single-game tickets may be purchased online at ArkansasRazorbacks.com, in person the Razorback Ticket Center or by phone at 800-982-HOGS. Fans ordering tickets online have the option to print the tickets from home utilizing UA's new eTicket system.
