FAYETTEVILLE - Stacy Lewis, former Razorback golf All-American and the reigning Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Player of the Year, will participate in the "A" Walk of Honor on Friday prior to Arkansas' football game against LSU at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Lewis recently became the first American woman since 1994 to win the LGPA Player of the Year Award. She remains active in supporting the Razorback women's golf program volunteering her time with the current team as well as providing resources for the continued growth of the program.

"We are extremely pleased to welcome back a great Razorback and the world's top female golfer to participate in the "A" Walk of Honor," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. "We are all extremely proud of her tremendous accomplishments, but even more so of her character, generosity and focus on helping others. As much as she has accomplished on the golf course in both her collegiate and professional careers, Stacy's positive impact on our program continues to make a difference in the lives of Razorback student-athletes. It is only fitting that Stacy's record-setting year will culminate with participating in one of the University of Arkansas' most recognizable athletic traditions."

Last June, Lewis became the first female student-athlete to join the Razorback Foundation's Century Circle. The Century Circle recognizes former Razorback student-athletes who make a gift of $100,000 or more to the athletic program. Her gift is earmarked for the expansion of the Razorback golf training facilities at Blessings, the Razorbacks' home course. Lewis will become the first female student-athlete and only the second Razorback student-athlete to participate in the "A" Walk of Honor.

Lewis was a four-time first-team All-Southeastern Conference and National Golf Coaches Association All-American at Arkansas. She paced the Razorbacks to four NCAA Regional appearances and three NCAA Championship appearances. Lewis won the NCAA individual title her junior season firing a then-course record with a 66 in the final round at the UCF/LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. Lewis still holds several records for the Razorbacks including her 12 tournament victories as a collegiate golfer.

Lewis turned professional following her storied career at Arkansas in the fall of 2008. The Woodlands, Texas, native won the LPGA's Qualifying School. Lewis has won five events on the LPGA Tour including four tournament victories in 2012. In addition, she has earned 37 top-10 tournament finishes on tour.

"Running through the A" is one of the Razorbacks' most storied football traditions. While "Running through the A" is a tradition reserved only for members of the Razorback football team, Razorback Athletics created a program to honor those individuals or groups who have played a significant role in the support of Razorback Athletics.

Honorees are invited to participate in this unique pre-game experience and are recognized on the video board and over the public address system as they walk through the "A" formed by the Razorback Marching Band. After completing the walk, honorees help complete the "A" before welcoming Coach John L. Smith and the Arkansas Razorback football team on the field just prior to kickoff. Honorees will also be inducted into the "A" Walk of Honor Hall of Fame.

Previous honorees have included members of the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation, former Arkansas coach and athletic director Frank Broyles, the Willard and Pat Walker family, Jim Lindsey, Bob and Marilyn Bogle, Boyce Billingsley and the Jennings Osborne family.
