FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - In honor of Veteran's Day, all past and present military personnel will be granted free admission to the University of Arkansas men's basketball game and volleyball match Friday. The Razorback men's basketball team opens its 2011-12 season against USC-Upstate at Bud Walton Arena while the volleyball team hosts South Carolina at Barnhill Arena.
Both events are scheduled for a 7 p.m. (CT) start. All veterans are encouraged to wear their uniforms at the contest and will be honored at each home event.
"On this Veteran's Day Weekend, we are reaching out to those who have served our country or are currently enlisted in the armed forces and inviting them to join us," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. "We are grateful for their service and their sacrifice on behalf of all Americans. It is our hope that they will join us Friday night and allow us to demonstrate our appreciation for their dedicated service in protecting our nation."
To obtain their free admission at the men's basketball game, military veterans are asked to check in at a table which will be located to the west of the main south entrance to Bud Walton Arena. Guests who are accompanying those military veterans may also purchase tickets at this table with cash or check. Credit card purchases for tickets will be located at the south ticket booth.
To obtain their free admission at the volleyball match, military veterans are asked to show their military ID at the ticket booth window at the south entrance of Barnhill Arena. Guests who are accompanying those military veterans may purchase their tickets at the same booth.
