FAYETTEVILLE - University of Arkansas head men's basketball coach Mike Anderson met with the media on Wednesday to discuss the Razorbacks' season opener against Sam Houston State on Friday.

“It's hard to believe this is year two and we are getting ready to open up against Sam Houston State," Anderson said. "I'm sure our guys will be looking forward to playing a game on Friday. It's an opportunity to open up the season and hopefully we can open it up in the right way."

Anderson also spoke about his comfort level with the team this year and how he feels he has a better idea of where they are on the court.

"I've got a better idea about our team going into the season opener than I did last year," Anderson said. "I think with the trip to Italy and having the chance to play four games and practice 10 days prior to that I thought it was huge for this team. Hopefully its going to pay off as we get ready to start year two."

The Razorbacks will take the court on Friday at 7 p.m. as they host the Bearkats to kick off the regular season in Bud Walton Arena.
