2012-13 Preview: An athletic guard with strength to get rebounds and start the break ... good perimeter defender ... grabbed more than three rebounds per game in Italy and hit 7-of-8 free throws ... according to Coach Anderson “has improved in terms of playing with that toughness and grit that you have to have. He is a guy that can distribute and his strength is that he can get to the hole. I just really want him to broaden his game and become more assertive defensively. I think that he can be a great defensive player in our system.” 2011-12 (Sophomore): Was able to avoid the injury bug as a sophomore and tripled his output on the court … averaged 9.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists … led the team in defensive rebounding and was No. 2 in assists … scored in double figures 14 times … scored a career high 23 points with five assists and six rebounds against Charlotte the game after tallying a then career best 18 points against Louisiana Tech … dropped in 22 points in Arkansas’ road win at Auburn with five assists, shooting 9-of-13 from the floor, 2-of-4 from three and grabbing six rebounds … tallied 18 points in back-to-back games at Alabama and in Arkansas’ upset of No. 25 Vanderbilt … led Arkansas in scoring six times and rebounding seven times … UA Athletic Department’s AD’s List (3.50-3.99) for fall semester … named to SEC Winter Honor Roll … given team playmaker and academic award by Razorback coaches. 2010-11 (Freshman): Missed significant time due to a stress reaction in his foot and shortly after getting rolled on during a game … played in just 13 games and only four after mid-December … averaged 3.3 points and 1.1 rebounds with 14 assists and nine steals in 161 total minutes … made his first career start against Oklahoma and scored five points and took two charges … scored eight points, took two charges and led the team with four assists against Seton Hall … played a career high 20 minutes against UAB, scoring five points and recording a career best two steals … hit his first career three-point basket against Auburn … UA Athletic Department Honor Roll (3.00-3.49) for fall and spring semesters … SEC First-Year Honor Roll. In High School: Four-year letterwinner at MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas … led the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area in scoring at 22.9 points per game as a senior … led MacArthur to a 21-11 record his senior year … named the 7-5A most valuable player as well as first-team all-district 7-5A … Texas Association of Basketball Coaches all-state selection, second-team all-area … Dallas Morning News’ MVP of the Colony Basketball Tournament … all-star participant and Academic All-American all-star participant … led the Cardinals in scoring in each of his final two seasons … three-time first-team all-district selection and four time honoree by the district … led MacArthur to two state playoffs … rated a three-star prospect by Scout.com and a four star by Rivals.com … Rivals.com has Scott as the No. 75 freshman in the nation and ranks him as the No. 1 best defender among the class of 2010 shooting guards stating “name the perimeter position that needs to be stymied, and Scott, who is a natural defender, will be up for the challenge” … second-team all-district player in football as a sophomore … active participant in Big Dogs, a non-profit youth pals organization mentoring children … signed with the Razorbacks after also considering Baylor, Kansas State, Memphis, Missouri, SMU and Texas Tech. Personal: Son of Rickey Sr. and Cynthia Scott … born Dec. 15, 1991 … he is majoring in broadcast journalism. |
