MORRILTON, Ark. – University of Arkansas Head Men’s Basketball Coach
Mike Anderson visited the first of eight Razorback Clubs on Thursday evening when he traveled to Morrilton, Ark., and spoke to the Petit Jean Club at Sacred Heart’s gymnasium.
Following an autograph session, Anderson was introduced by the voice of the Razorbacks, Chuck Barrett, to a rousing ovation. He then spoke to the club about the state of the Arkansas basketball program, his 2012 recruiting class, what it meant to him to return to the Arkansas program and how he thought his players could come together for the 2012-13 season. He then answered questions from the fans in attendance.
Anderson just completed his first season as Arkansas’ head coach and led the Razorbacks to an 18-14 record which included three victories over ranked teams, a school-record 17 wins at home and an undefeated non-conference home schedule. The Razorbacks bring back a majority of their team for the 2012-13 season and add four players who have signed national letters of intent.
Anderson’s next stop on the Razorback Club circuit is Baxter County club in Mountain Home, Ark., on Thursday, April 19. Other stops include Tulsa, Okla. (April 23), Fort Smith, Ark. (April 24), Roy L. Murphy Club in Hot Springs, Ark. (May 1), Saline County club in Benton, Ark. (May 3), Mississippi County Club in Blytheville, Ark. (May 7), Greers Ferry Lake (May 10) and Fort Smith, Ark. (May 14), for a golf outing.
