2012-13 Preview: The No. 2 rebounder in junior college last season, he has a nose for the ball and puts himself in great positions ... leading rebounder in Italy at more than eight per game, he also shot 73 percent from the field ... according to Coach Anderson “a guy that has a great nose for the ball, great feel for the game. His strength is he goes to the glass extremely hard which is something that we are in need of, but the thing that impresses me is he can pass the ball, he can score in the low block and he goes to the offensive glass. He’s an energy guy.” At Laswon State Community College: Averaged 12.8 points and 12.1 rebounds in two seasons … averaged 14.5 points and 13.0 rebounds as a sophomore … ranked No. 2 in the nation in rebounding … led team in rebounding, assists, steals and blocks per game as a sophomore … two-time all-region and all-conference first-team … named to conference tournament’s all-tournament team … took NJCAA Player of the Week honors … led team in rebounding, assists, steals and blocks per game as a sophomore … led his team to the semifinals of the NJCAA Region 22 tournament both years … three 20-plus point games … 26 straight double-figure scoring games as a sophomore … career high 27 points against Marion Military … career high 23 rebounds against Faulkner State … 40 career double-doubles and two triple-doubles. In High School: Two-time first-team all-state while also earning third-team all-state accolades … played in the Alabama/Mississippi All-Star game … won the Alabama High School Slam Dunk championship his junior and senior seasons … named Birmingham News Super 12.
