FAYETTEVILLE - Hosting the John McDonnell Invitational, the No. 6 University of Arkansas men's track and field team collected five event victories Saturday on its home track. The Razorbacks had first-place showings from Akheem Gauntlett at 400 meters, Leoman Momoh at 800 meters, Lane Boyer at 5,000 meters, Noah Kittelson in the high jump and the 4x400-meter relay. In addition to the team's victory tally, 11 Razorbacks posted career-best performances.

The first win came from Kittelson who led a 1-2-3 finish for Arkansas in the high jump. He had a winning clearance of 2.17m/7-1.5 to secure the victory and establish a personal best. He was following in the event standings by teammates Brede Ellingsen (2.14m/7-0.25) and Dwayne Golbek (2.11m/6-11). The clearance for Golbek matched his personal best.

Arkansas swept the top-two spots at 400 meters and 800 meters. In the quarter mile, Gauntlett outpaced teammate Marek Niit with a time of 45.65 for the win. In second place, Niit crossed the line in a personal-best time of 45.91, a performance that also set the national record for his native Estonia. At 800 meters, Momoh finished just ahead of teammate Anthony Lieghio for the win. Both finished the race with personal-best times, 1:49.17 for Momoh and 1:49.25 for Lieghio.

Boyer, in a quick turnaround from his 10,000-meter race Thursday at the Mt. SAC Relays, won the 5,000 meters Saturday with a time of 14:27.69. The effort for Boyer is the second-fastest 5K time of his collegiate career.

The Razorbacks closed out the John McDonnell Invitational with a victory in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of Gauntlett, Ben Skidmore, Travis Southard and Neil Braddy combined for a winning time of 3:08.40, more than three seconds clear of the second-place team from Oral Roberts. Braddy, Gauntlett and Skidmore were also part of the 4x100-meter relay team-with Caleb Cross-that turned in a runner-up finish.

Including its 4x100-meter relay, Arkansas also had second-place efforts from Cross in the 400-meter hurdles, Patrick Rono at 1,500 meters, Andrew Irwin in the pole vault and Luke Laird in the javelin. Cross and Rono had personal-best times in their respective races. Cross knocked more than one second off his previous best to finish in 51.11 while Rono posted a personal best of 3:46.30.

The Razorbacks' remaining career-best performances came from Braddy (21.06) at 200 meters, Kyle Dunn (14.24) in the 110-meter hurdles and Travis Southard (52.85) in the 400-meter hurdles and Layne Nixon in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Full results for Arkansas are below. The Razorbacks return to action April 26-28 with the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa. For more information regarding Razorback track and field or University of Arkansas athletics, please visit ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
