Bradham named to SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –  University of Arkansas redshirt freshman Tera Bradham was named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team for swimming and diving, the league office announced Thursday.

“Being involved with our community is a very strong part of our culture with in the swimming and diving team,” head coach Sean Schimmel said. “We have many great leaders in that area and Tera is obviously one of them. Tera has spearheaded multiple team events for us to help the community. Tera also continually seeks out opportunities for herself to be of service to the community. She is ways looking for ways to give of herself to help those around her.”

Bradham volunteered over 36 hours in the local community over the course of the fall semester in addition to her studies and requirements as a member of the swimming and diving team. Bradham worked closely with Horses for Healing, a therapeutic riding center for individuals with special needs. She also assisted with Run For Love, the Campus Food Pantry and the Fayetteville Half Marathon among other local organizations.

The Round Rock, Texas, native was honored as an academic champion for the fall semester for compiling a 4.0 GPA. She is a fellow in the honors college and recently received a grant to study abroad. Bradham is one of 12 members of the 2013 SEC swimming and diving community service team joining Paige McCleary (Alabama), Hannah Riordan (Auburn), Jamie Bohunicky (Florida), Maddie Locus (Georgia), Sarah Chewning (Kentucky), Kaelee Mader (LSU), Sharon Finn (Missouri), Whitney Avers (South Carolina), Lauren Solernou (Tennessee), Allyson Sweeny (Texas A&M) and Alyxandra Vernon (Vanderbilt).
