Below are season-long notes for the University of Arkansas swimming and diving team.
Jordan breaks a Kansas pool record
FAYETTEVILLE -It was the second event out of the gate and sophomore Lauren Jordan was all set to go in the 1,000 freestyle.
Jordan led from the get-go with a 28.54 split and the Carmel, Ind., native never looked back. She finished with a time of 9:57.31 and a first-place finish and the pool record. Teammates Nicole Menzel and Chelsea Franklin recorded second and third as Arkansas took a one-two-three finish in a dominating 1,000 free performance.
The win gave the Razorbacks a strong lead over the Jayhawks from the beginning. Arkansas would go on to sweep Kansas in all 16 events for the first time since the 2010-11 season when Arkansas swept Tulane and North Texas.
Arkansas returns to the pool on Tuesday, Feb. 19, for the first day of the Southeastern Conference Championships in College Station, Texas.
