Lavy Moves Up Leaderboard

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – University of Arkansas senior Emma Lavy fired a four-under 68 for her best round of the season moving up to a tie for 13th overall in second round action at the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C., Saturday.

Lavy, a Fayetteville, Ark., native, is in the clubhouse with a 144 with rounds of 76-70 to lead No. 3 Arkansas who is eighth overall as a team.  Arkansas posted a 291 teaming with yesterday’s 296 for 587.

Lavy picked up the first of four birdies on the fourth hole and put together a steady round with four birdies and 14 pars.  Teammate sophomore Regina Plasencia posted a one-over 73 and is tied for 146 along with sophomore Gabriela Lopez who shot rounds of 70-76.  The duo are tied for 22nd overall.

Freshman Summar Roachell is tied for 66th overall with 152 shooting 77-75 and senior Emily Tubert is tied for 72nd with 153 with rounds of 78-75.

Seventh-ranked Duke leads the field with a 568, followed by No. 14 Alabama with 580 and No. 9 Oklahoma with 582. There is a tie for fourth with No. 18 Vanderbilt and No. 17 Clemson with 584 followed by No. 72 Ole Miss with 584, No. 21 Florida with 586 and No. 3 Arkansas with 587.  The Razorbacks are just three strokes out of the top five team scores.

The rest of the field includes No. 39 Wake Forest and No. 13 UNC tied for ninth with 589, No. 12 North Carolina State, No. 24 Auburn and No. 15 South Carolina tied for 11th with 590, No. 26 Michigan State with 592, No. 30 LSU with 593, No. 28 Virginia with 595, No. 17 Notre Dame with 599 and No. 49 Baylor with 609.

Play concludes with a final round at Finley Golf Course Sunday.
